RECIPE EASY TERIYAKI CHICKEN

Very easy but still soooo tasty recipe and genuine japanese. Most important is to let the sauce thicken, but gently!

Poultry dishes from Japan for 4 persons, suitable for on or with a bbq dish, for children or prepare with children.

Ingredients

  • 4 chickenbreasts, scored to ease cooking
  • 6 tbsp kikkoman soy
  • 6 tbsp mirin (or sweet sherry)
  • 2 tbsp sake
  • sugar to taste
  • 1 tbsp shishimi togarashi, japanese pepper mixture
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

Preparation

Mix soy, mirin and sake, add sugar to taste. Mix until sugar is dissolved.

Sprinkle chicken with shishimi and salt and saute until just about done. Pour 1 tbsp sauce over the chicken in the pan and leave.

Put the rest of the sauce in a little pan and simmer until the sauce thickens slightly. Do this on low heat!

Glaze chicken with thickened sauce and serve over rice with sesameseeds sprinkled on top.

Tip: You could enhance flavour by adding ginger and/or garlic to sauce.
