RECIPE VEALMEDAILLON WITH MUSHROOMS

Recipe for veal and mushrooms, try to get fresh cantharelles or other wild mushrooms for best flavour.

Meat dishes from France for 4 persons, suitable for for christmas and other holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pnd assorted mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 chili, seeded and chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 sprigs parsley, chopped
  • 1 sprig thyme, stem removed
  • 1 tsp stock powder
  • 3 veal medaillons
  • salt, pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp oliveoil

Preparation

Melt 2 tbsp butter and saute garlic, onion and chili on low heat for 5 minutes. Add parsley and mushrooms and saute another 5 minutes.

Add stock powder and 3/4 cup water and bring to a simmer. Stir in thyme leaves.

Sprinkle veal with salt and pepper and saute in oil for about 5-6 minutes, turn halfway.

To serve place veal on warm plates and drizzle sauce around.

Serve with rice and broccoli.
