RECIPE INDIAN CHICKEN WITH YOGHURT

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 pnd chickenbreast, sliced/cubed
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp gr. cumin
  • 0,5 tsp kardemom
  • 0,5 tsp yellowroot (kunjit)
  • 0,5 tsp chilipowder
  • 2 ounces almonds, unsalted
  • 1 bayleaf
  • 1/2 cup creme fraiche
  • 3/4 cup yoghurt
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander/cilantro

Preparation

Heat oil in pan and saute onion, garlic and ginger, simmer for about 5 mins. Stir in cumin, kardemom, kunjit, chilipowder, bayleaf and almonds. Saute another 3 mins. Add chicken and creme fraiche and simmer with lid on for about 10 mins until chicken is done.

Mix yoghurt with starch. Stir yoghurt in chicken mixture. If its too thick add some water/stock and heat up.

Serve with rice.
